near death attack

So so much to tell so little time. First things first.

I am staying in Fray Bents!! Yeay! Another month and a half! I am finally
staying in one place; it is amazing! And the best part, Hna Ung and I are
still together!! Yaya! We will be here for Christmas, new years and her
birthday the 31 of December. = )

Conference with Elder Bednar. He taught t us to be spiritually independent,
to look and study and to pray for answers to difficult questions and how to
teach and learn with the spirit. It was amazing, mostly in the way that he
taught about being a student of the Spirit and how you can come to know all
things.

The other day we were almost attacked/ sabotaged/ shot out in our apartment.

It was close to 10 30, Hna Ung and I were lying peacefully in our beds, when
all of a sudden I hear a deafening BOOOM!!

A wave of heat scorged my left arm, as hot yellow sparks flew into the room
through the blinds and open porch door. BOOM BOOM BOOM!! The shots
continued, Hna Ung and I hurled ourselves to the floor crouching into
storm-safe position, legs curled up, hands over head.
A long hard silence followed. I didn't dare breath, Who the heck was trying
to kill us? Where are the cops and sirens? Does no one care that some one
open fires on the missionaries?!?
Hna Ung was the first one to move, "I think they're gone, she says" I look
up, she is crouched down still with her pepper spray in her hand. (O that's
gonna work)

We then hear a knock on the door, Hna Smaldone and Hna Halloway, the two
sisters who live with us came in, Hna Smaldone had a camera dangling form
her arm.

"Gees, we go all out of our way to scare you guys with a couple of
firecrackers and you don't even give a reaction - not even a scream. Why are
you on the floor.."

I wanted to throw my shoe at them. Apparently the very similar gun shots
coming through our porch door were firecrackers they had set off wanting to
scare us, with the video recorder out and ready to capture the scare.

Baptism news!
Things are great with the family Lemos! Manuel got the priesthood! And is
going to baptize his wife and daughter on Saturday!! Wahoo!!
