Hello All
Hello All,
I was writing a letter to my trainer and first companion Hna Allphin, and it ended up expressing well how the mission is going so I’m going to include a few parts of the letter.
I’ve really learned a lot about the miracle in 2 Nephi 32:2-3 about feasting upon the words of Christ to be blessed with the tongue of angles, that is, to be able to speak and to teach and to testify of Christ. I love/ and try to consume as much good words, books, songs as I can. I realize how much our environment and the type of media we watch or listen to really affects the type of people we are (right down to our thoughts and words and habits). In the mission I’ve really been able to control my environment and the type of things that I put into my mind. Mosiah 4:30. It’s almost like a spiritual self-cleansing. I’ve also realized that the less we have of the world the more we are able to fill ourselves with Christ and with light.
We had interviews last week with President and the assistants, Elder Boardman and Elder Todd. They gave a small workshop and concentrated on two points. 1. Obedience and 2. Focus. For me, the focus that I maintain day to day is everything. It’s what keeps us reminded of our purpose, our importance, and keeps us full of energy to go out day after day with all our might, mind, and strength. It’s also what makes the time Soar.
Best Moment of the week:
Sunday we had stake conference, the ward rented three buses to take everyone to the stake center (40 min ride through the country). The buses left at 8:30, my companion and I had to make two trips to go and pick up/wake up investigators. To make a long story short. The buses left us. But they had an extra bus that hadn’t been filled, so my my companion and three investigators got our own private bus. O yea.
Interesting Meal: nothing really good or exciting this week, we actually had to eat of packed lunches, usually rice and milanesa (chicken fried steak)
Scripture of the week: Mosiah 3:19, putting off the natural man. My companion and I are trying to memorize it, we practice it in the streets.
