training with the gold

Hello,

I love training! It’s like the best. My newbie companion has so much energy and excitement for the work, it’s like receiving free energizer bunny batteries! Lol, plus she’s super smart and already speaks Spanish well (she also studied abroad in Spain for a semester at the U) Her name is Hermana Gardner from Taylorsville, Utah.

We had SO many miracles happen this week. I thought the work here in Fray Bentos was dead, then old investigators just started popping out of nowhere! One such, Raquel Domesquez, was an investigator that we dropped in October because she was not living the law of chastity. I RANDOMLY found her on the bus on Thursday, and she had broken up with her boyfrien—Yay!! She came to church on Sunday, and although she would not accept the fecha (date) of the 6th of March, she did decide she wanted to be baptized. Yay for miracles! More has happened, and there will be baptisms this weekend!!!

Other than that, I love Fray Bentos. I am so glad that I have been able to stay here for six more weeks. It is so fun to be able to see how the Lord is putting people in my path that I had spoken with seven months ago. People that I had never thought twice about read the folletos (pamphlets) we had given them and are ready for more.

I absolutely love Hermana Gardner. She teaches me more everyday. If you like, you can send her cards and presents as she is my hija (daughter) in the mission.

Anyway
Keep being actively engaged in a good cause – choose the right – don’t get down, trust in the Lord always!

Remember that prayer is not like making a fast food order. Really try to talk to Him, think about what you are going to say, meditate, analyze, and speak to him as you speak to a friend in person.

I love you all
