The heavens poured down gallons and gallons of water this week. Almost everyday we faced thunder, lightening and flooded streets. The storm was so bad that on Friday the zone leaders called for a mandatory stay off the streets. It’s gone back to normal now (that being really hot), although in many places they have a lot of flooding. Ironic that the lesson this Sunday was about Noah and the ark….

Despite the time taken by the storms, we were still able to persevere and ended the week well. Today Hermana Moreno (my last companion) is in town visiting some old converts. (She’s still in the mission, but the president gave her permission to come and visit.) It's cool to see her again, although strange. It’s always different to see your old companions when you are with your new; it’s almost like you can’t be with both, or you’ll break the unity with the new. Is this how missions prep you for marriage?

NONE of the investigators that we were hoping for showed up at church. But lots of new converts and less active families did!!! They are progressing wonderfully. I love seeing all the people you love and care about all together in one place—its really why Sunday is a good day.

The best part of the mission is the time to testify. You can do it anywhere to anyone at anytime. All other factors are of little importance. = )

This is the scripture that I’ve picked for the year: Alma 7:23, 24. It's full of good goals to go out and get.

OK, I’m a little scared that I am getting too used to the Uruguayan food. For some days, I was craving rice with carrots and mayonnaise. Can’t wait to get back to my good old days of air popped popcorn and frozen peas….
