Hello, how are you all?
This week we saw two baptisms!! Wahoo! It was amazing and beautiful.
The first one, was Gladys Gonzlez. We’ve been working with her for two months now. She is the grandmother of a family that was baptized two years ago. She has come over a lot of obstacles and self doubt. At first she did not want to be baptized because she was afraid of not being able to keep the commandments.
With a lot of patience and prayer, her confidence in herself and in the Lord grew. She was really happy coming out of the font. I love her.
The second baptism was Betina Airala. She is the granddaughter of the primary president. Hna Ung and I started teaching her months ago, but she was not able to be baptized in December as planned because of her father. We went back to speak with him last week, after having stopped visiting, and talked to them both about deciding a date for the baptism. Miracles worked their way again, the father agreed for this weekend. All the family could be there, and her grandfather was able to baptize her. The best part is that we were able to persuade her mom to come (her parents separated a year ago and hardly talk.) We snapped a picture of the family together with Betina in the middle. It was really great to be able to have the family brought together in this moment.
The work here has been good. People go fishing a lot. It seems to be a favorite pastime.
Hna Gardner and I have matching hats. Wahoo. I’ve felt this extra strength with me these past few days, and I know that is from the strength of the Lord. He really does makes us the strongest on our weakest hour. Thank you for all of your prayers; they are felt and bringing to pass many miracles here.
