Pictures of White

Hello!

Ok, so the day had finally come. Jimena Gimenes's BAPTISM DATE: We had given all the lessons, fellowshipping was underway, and she had consistently attended all of the YW activites the past few weeks. Her interview with the elders had gone smoothly the day before. In the capilla, the baptism font was filling up, and Hermana De Paulo had brought the cake for refreshements. Giovana, the Young Woman's presidenct had her talk prepared and ready to go. It was fifteen mintures before sacrament meeting. Everything was perfect. But wait…where was Jimena?

The prelude music starts, everyones looking around; some shake their heads. My companion and I stand in the entrance and look up and down the streets—no one is in site. The announcements start and there's opening prayer. If she's not here for the sacrament, time's up. My companion and I sit down on the bench in the hallway, not daring to breath yet. "Theres still time, there's still time" The sacrament prayer stops, we stand up to go inside, but then we hear.what could it be…wheels on the pavement, steps up the stairs. We look and yes! It's true! Jimena with her mom and baby sister! They're here!

Talk about close timeing. Jimena rushes in and gives us a big kiss; you can tell she's nervous. We assure her everything's OK, and together we all enter the sacrament room.

Well, that was our first baptism in Artigas! It was really exciting—It was the first baptism of my companion her whole mission! This is her third area. So it was great to be able to break through tradtion. The baptism was a twelve year gold of the family we have been teaching. The whole family is coming to church. Her parents are waiting to get married, but Jimena decided to get baptised before. It was a really pretty program, although kind of crazy for us. As a missionary, the one peaceful and restful church programs become stressful and hectic. Lol.

After the program we went over to Jimena´s house to see how she was. She just welcomed us with a big hug! She was super happy! Which kind of surprised me for some reason, but it was really cool it see.

These are the fotos of the baptism and some big rocks. Artigas is famous for its precias stones. These pictures are taken inside a rock factory right by our house. They throw all the prefect rocks outside in a big pile. We go rock hunting sometimes and find some really good things.
