A Family Guided by the Hand of the Lord
His name is Fabio. Her name Mari. Fabio’s always been a religious man, with a natural respect for God and a desire to lead a clean healthy life. Churches…well he had tried a few, after all, whatever has to do with the word of God is important, but many times the words of the preachers never really entered his heart in the way he thought they should.
Around May 15, Fabio had a dream. Someone came to him in this dream—it was his Savior, Jesus Christ. Christ was in the distance beckoning with his arm to Fabio as if to say, “Come to me. Come to me.”
Upon waking up the following morning, the words of the dream stuck with Fabio in his mind. Before leaving for work, Fabio said to his wife, “Mari, we have to find a church.”
“But Fabio,” Mari replied, “We’ve already been to a lot of churches. We didn’t like any of them. We were even baptized evangelical, but that didn’t get us anywhere. Where else should we go?” “I don’t know,” Fabio replied, “but I know Christ will show us the way.
A few weeks later, May 30th, Fabio and Mari received a knock on the door. “Hi, we’re missionaries form The Church of Jesus Christ, can we come in?”
Needless to say, this story has a happy ending. From the first day, Fabio, Mari and their two children, Estefani, 13, and Esteban, 10, were very receptive and eager to learn everything they were taught. They decided to put the missionaries’ promise to a test of reading and praying.
Still a little embarrassed to ask the missionaries too many questions, they began looking for their own answers in the book. And interesting enough, the answers always seemed to come.
The gap between them and God that had existed before seemed to grow smaller. Mari began to feel more peaceful at home and had more patience with others. Fabio continued with his prayers but realized that God and Christ had always been within reach; he had just never known how to get there before. They all realized as a family that worshiping in their own way wasn’t the same as worshipping in the Lord’s way.
Fabio, Mari, Estefani, and Esteban, prayed together as a family to ask God if they should be baptized in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Following the promptings of the Spirit, they decided to be baptized the first Sunday of July.
Today they are being brought a few white outfits to try for size.
Pictures will come sorry = ) The story is better in real life.
