This has been a great week!!
After all of the Christmas fun and celebrations, my companion and I felt very...unfocused. So we decided to get back on track this week, setting our goals high to get back to work. In return it has been an awesome week! And we are finding many very wonderful people to share the gospel with!
Sadly this will be the last week of this change, on Monday we are informed of transfers. Will I stay six more weeks? Or will these be my last days in this wonderful area? I hate the anticipation. Whatever the outcome, many tears will be shed.
Because of the great success we were able to have these last few months, the mission president sponsored a big cook out for the zone. It was really fun, we had to rent this big van to take all 18 of us to a cook-out place on the river bend. There was also a small petting zoo nearby that a few of us took advantage of to go see.
The 31st was my companion’s (Hna Ung’s) birthday. It was really fun. I woke up an hour and a half early to decorate the house and to throw a fruit-head cake together. She really liked it, and it turned out to be a great special day, especially due to the pink crown and wand that I made her carry around all day. It was extra convo-points in contacts. = )
Our dear elderly friend Estela invited us over for the birthday lunch. She made us her cow tongue special and raviolis. Yum! The tongue was actually pretty good, she stuffed it with this parsely, olive oil, egg sauce. The taste bud-y surface was the only thing that made the stomach lurch a little.
Ever since the Bednar conference, I have loved going through the Book of Mormon and marking all references to the Atonement. Mainly the three roles of the Atonement: as one that heals, one that strengthens, and one that cleanses. Its really great, I recommend it to anyone who is looking for more spiritually filling scripture study.
Lately we have been teaching a lot of Catholics. We are able to hit a lot on the changes that have occurred due to the apostasy, that it is a false tradition of their fathers, and that baptism is not necessary for small children. I love it because theses are all key points that the Book of Mormon teaches us about.
Pray that the Lord will be able to guide the mission president to make the transfers according to His plan. I know that if I go it is because the Lord has a greater plan for me and this area. I am very thankful for the four and a half months that I have been able to be here. It was been one of the best experiences of my mission thus far.
Anyway love you all!
Hermana Salisbury
