Hello todos!

The weeks seem to be flying by! We were able to go on divisions a lot this week with members from the ward, so that helped a lot! (It's like doing double the work in half the time!)

Frida Karamke is one who comes out with us a lot. She was recently baptized in July but since then has been it by the bug of the obra misional. She loves talking to people about the gospel! Since she was baptized she has read Every church book she can get her hand on! Although she is technically 63 her energy and enthusiasum makes her seem a lot younger. She walks and spends almost the whole day with us. Her only pair of shores were wearing out so I gave her some of mine (the small black ones that I didn’t really wear that much)
She used to be really well off, but life hit her hard in the last few years when she separated from her husband. For which she’s had to sell a lot of her possessions. So her house is huge and beautiful right on the bend of the river (the greatest view ever!) but empty for the lack of furniture. She tells me that I am half Latina.
On Friday when practially ALL of our citas fell thorugh we ended up the day cooking up some tortas fritas and inviting neighbors over for a charlar.
The other member that helps us out a lot is Zulma Novelasco. She is amazing. She is actually a member of the rama, but since she cant go out iwht the elders in her branch she comes out with us. She was baptized about six years ago, and sealed in the temple two years later with her husband. If you even mention something slightly spiritual she tears up. But is a hoot. She reminds me of crhisty a lot. She has a really strong testimony of the restuarted gospel and the work for our ancestors. She and her husband live out in the county on a farm. Desptie the disantace shes invited us over at elast weekely to eat with them. They have the coolest farm! I’ll send pictures of the deer head they use to hang up their laundry.
They have this awesome old car (which in the states would be in like a museum) but for them its like everyday normal vehicle, that they took us to Las Canas (the local beach/shore) They always make fun of me for putting corn flakes on my icecream, and for dipping my crackers in my juice.
This weekend we had a great baptism, A young girl (20) Antonela Pumenta got baptized!! Her mother passed away about a year ago, and while she was in the hospital became friends with one of the nurses there, Marta Camejo a member from the branch. Marta really helped Antonela recover from the death of her mom and introduced her to the gospel and helped her understand the plan of this life and the hope to see her mother again. So really, this baptism is a one of the many where members are the ones doing the missionary work. But Antonela is great and already asked us to come over and help her get her mission papers in. Yup, she’s going on a mission!
She’s funny though, she texts us all the time and always wants us to come over, we’re tying to get her to come out with us to help her strengthen her testimony and get a taste for the sweet work of the missionaries.
Its kindof sad, I think that since I left the house my cooking skills have increasly decreased. I can’t cook anything! I even tried to make pancakes the other day, PAnCakes! And they came out horrible! I’m pretty nervous for where I’m headed. But o well, at least my companion cooks Super well and I can always rely on oatmeal and bananas (I’m happier that way anyway)

So the pictures are (hopefully in this order)
Zulma, her husband, Hna Ung and I in Las Canas
Antonela and I with the Cow
The cool car we rode in
Zulma’s clothes line
I fell in the mud! With Frida.
